This film was first screened at the Cinémathèque française on January 21, 2008 for the inauguration of the Conservatoire des techniques (Conservatory of Techniques). The Conservatory was created to study, enhance, and promote the Cinematheque and CNC collection of motion picture devices: 6,000 antique and modern motion picture cameras, 25,000 magic lantern plates, archives on the history of technology, and more. Led by director Laurent Mannoni, the Conservatory organizes monthly lectures on specific subjects in the history of cinematographic techniques.
